Neurodivergence and Yoga

Neurodivergence is a topic close to the heart of Serene Dawn Yoga. We would like to create a space for open communication on this topic; a space in which you can connect with others, collaborate, and discuss ideas related to non-typical neuro-functioning and the implications of regular yoga and meditation practice. Definition: Neurodivergent- differing in mental or neurological function from what is considered typical or normal; not neurotypical. The most commonly recognized neurodivergent conditions include ADHD, Autism, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. There is evidence to show that mindfulness meditation can be a helpful tool in the management of these and other medical conditions when used in conjunction with medical therapies recommended by a physician.
